Yesterday makes 10

Flashback...
The cutey present Amber made me!

So, yesterday (the 2nd) Austin and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary! WoW. It doesn't even feel like it's been that long. We hadn't planned to do much given our situation with no family near to babysit so we were just going to drive down to Wilmington which is a touristy beachy fun town for the evening to have dinner.

WELLLLL, my super buddy Amber starts insisting that we get a hotel and stay one night there and she would watch our kids for the night...all 700 of them!! I kept blowing it off and saying no because I HATE putting people out and making them watch my kids. I never ask unless it's an emergency because I don't want people to feel like they have to say yes. I'm so overly concerned about my kids behavior and manners that I freak out and go crazy if they stay with someone. Finally she talked us into it because this 10 year anniversary WILL only happen ONE time and it's a special one.

So we quickly made plans to stay at the Hilton in Wilmington and then eat at Ruth's Chris which is also in the Hilton there. We decided that since we probably wouldn't have an opportunity like this again for a long time we should make the most of it so we made our dinner plans at 9pm and spent the earlier part of the night shopping with our Christmas money at Banana Republic!!!!! I LoOoOoOvE BR!!! I got these cute shoes and this sweater (except in black) PLUS a really cute new pea coat(I couldn't find a picture of it) that Amber made fun of me for wearing with my flip flops the next day. I couldn't help it though because it was cold and I only brought flip flops and heels. How was I to know I'd get that awesome coat?!?! Austin got some cute stuff to but he always looks hot so whats new, right?

So after we shopped we went to the hotel to check in and relax a bit before dinner. I texted and Austin watched a little football and then we were off to our yummy meal at Ruth's Chris. It was so nice to sit there together and know that we have been married for ten wonderful years. I honestly 100% believe that he is the most PERFECT man for me and I am SOO lucky to have such a caring and loving husband and father for our children.

When dinner was over, we ordered some dessert to-go and took it up to our room where we cuddled in our enormous (well any size bed is enormous when you only have a full) bed with down pillows and comforter, ate our treats (cheesecake and banana cream pie) and watched a $13 Dark Knight movie until 3 am. Well...the movie didn't last until 3am, but we stayed up talking to each other and enjoying our alone time until then :)

In the morning we picked up the kids and brought Amber some of her favorite treats (Krispy Kreme's) for being so generous and watching our heathens all night. I'm SOO glad we agreed to stay a night for this anniversary. I can honestly say it was the BEST EVER anniversary we've had YET and I can't WAIT for the next one! Thanks Amber for all you did for us, it was PERFECT. And thanks Summer for giving me the advice to "not stress" and enjoy our time.

I love you Austin. Thank you for being an amazing husband, father and best friend. I'm so happy that I have been sealed to you in the temple for time and all eternity. That is truly the greatest gift you have ever given me *kiss*

Congratulations you two! I can't believe it's been that long! Oh and by the way the song "Ice Cream" always reminds me of your wedding day.

Good Job on getting away without the kiddos! I must say I have to second Laura's question...possible #5? Hmmm??

Congrats! You both look sooooooooo young in that picture. So funny!

I still remember that I had to choose between attending your reception and that of another couple we are friends with from college. Somehow they won, but I never forget when your anniversary is.

Happy 10th!!!

I'm glad you married austin because he's a really cool brother that i would never be able to have otherwise... plus... it gives enos someone to debate with. I'm glad they don't hate each other. That would give me anxiety. HA

Love the new banner picture on your blog. Your family looks like they could have stepped out of a GAP or J.Crew ad.

What a lovely friend that Amber is to watch your children so you and Austin could have a romantic weekend away. Happy Anniversary!

Hey you--the blog looks super fantastic. Almost as good as the 10 year celebration sounds. Congratulations! So, so fun. I'm glad that Amber watched the kids and that you two partied. Your wedding pic is great too. You look good with your hair at any length. 'Cause your "young and hot" even without Isela's camera!
