Let's Get ready for Christmas!!

SO we've decided as a family that our tradition for setting up the Christmas decorations from now on will be on the first FHE after Thanksgiving. That, of course, fell on TODAY!! So we got out all our Christmas treasures to fill the house (or at least one room). Kora and I started making some delicious and WARM sweet chili (kudos to Camilla for the recipe I always use!) for the evening. Oh and this picture was taken AFTER we ate...I know it looks like only enough for half a bowl.

We played some fun Christmas music on youtube.com and the kids got started on separating the branches. Okay, so our tree is a little small, I know. I thought about getting a big one this year since we have a HOUSE now but then I remembered we'd be gone half of December so why not just make due with the small one. It'll save some mula and it's still fun even though it's the Charlie Brown tree.

The night wouldn't be complete without Austin terrorizing poor Miah.

The goal was to get all of these...

...on here. Yay! We did it! Don't make fun of the ornament placement. These were all done by the kids and when they go to bed tonight I'll get busy putting the ornaments where I want them since I'm a little controlling. Okay a LOT controlling.

After the decorating Kora went around and got random pictures of everyone being weird. Here I am sweeping. Nice huh? Dirty shirt and all.

Dad with tired eyes even though he shouldn't have tired eyes because he's been off for a LONG time and even took a nap today.

Jake being famous and flashing his peace sign like the stars.

And the finished product (if you promise not to laugh), here is our very HUMBLE Christmas decor. The rest of the house may be blank, but at least (or Uh-Gleast if you're Amber) we have Christmas cheer, right?

And to finish the night off right...
GORILLA POOPS FOR EVERYONE!!!

HAPPY DECEMBER!

Okay....so where do I begin?!? Thanks for explaining to me what FHE meant! I need to do that with my family, what an awesome idea! I know...once we move into our new house, we can have weekly bonfire nights:) Okay, and your chilli...ummm where do I even begin to comment on that? It looks like your family ate most of it, which is good...I'm sure you can't wait for A to make his "apperance" with the after effects of it:) So, you have to listen to youtube xmas music because you don't have a TV to play the wonder music channels. I love how your xmas tree is just alittle bit bigger then the Miah and Kora. And your tree looks really cute...is that my peacock Iphone pic that I sent you?!? I knew that it would look perfect on your tree! Holy mother of stockings!!!!

Ok, so I must have gotten gorilla poops from you because just the other day they had a bake sale at my work and they were selling these and I yelped like a little girl "yay...gorilla poops!!" So I am sitting here still cracking up at the fact that you posted the words gorilla. and poop.
Your stockings look lovely :)

How fun! We do all this the first Saturday of December so ElCid can be involved. We love Gorilla poops here too, maybe we'll add them to our tradition as well.

I SOO miss being able to decorate my own Christmas. Last year, it was a welcome break. This year - darn near depressing! I love your Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Awesome!!

Your Christmas decorations are precious and I am totally in love with your new home. Especially the yummy hardwood floors! We are finishing up our decorating as well. Wish I could say that it was finished in one night.

Did you know I sat here for ten minutes looking for the "M" for Miah.

I'm brilliant!

I can't WAIT to decorate an even smaller tree after we move.

Gorilla poops are my favorite! I thought we were the only ones who called them that! Well we actually call it monkey poop, but close enough. :) I love your decorations, and it's the family fun that counts, not the size of the tree.

I totally just had a moment and was all upset that Miah didn't have a stocking...until I realized that perhaps his name isn't Miah but is Joe and so he does have a stocking.

Ok, just kidding...I know that Miah is short for Jeremiah...or at least I'm hoping. LOL

you wouldn't have to worry about your crazy stalkers if you wouldn't post pictures of your hiney in action.
I'm boycotting xmas decor this year for fear it will all be destroyed by the twin demons. maybe i'll put a wreath. outside on the door. up real high where they can't reach it. maybe.

Baby
I loved catching up on blog reading. I was laughing and recalling memories. Just think if I had never had Karen Morgan as one of my young women back LLLOOONNNGGG!!!! ago in the 80's we would probably still be calling those cookies Unbaked Chocolate Cookies. I loved the name Gorilla Poops then and now. It gives the cookies so much personality. People just want to eat them even more when you say the name. I love you and your stories and just reading your blog has sparked a tiny Christmas spirit in me. I have NONE!!! of that and you just made me have some. I am so thankful for you being my kid even tho you promised you did not do what you did first and claimed someone else started the whole thing at the Stake Dance long ago. TeeHee!! Just you and i know what I am talking about. Well my son in law (the great hero protecting the honor of his girlfriend that night at the stake dance)as might know what I am talking about. All of us protecting Jessica and just knowing that she would never do anything like that. OK Now i am just rambling.
Love you
Mutha

PS OH HI AMBER. How are you doing?
