LeJeune

So yep...we found out today that we'll be moving to North Carolina in a few months! That was our FOURTH choice of places to go...LAST on our list but hey, it's the Marine Corps so you do what they tell you. There were no spots in Hawaii for Judge Advocate, 1 at Pendleton, 2 in Japan and 2 at Lejeune. Austin at least got one of those spots. The rest of the guys got some crazy spots like Arizona, Georgia, New Orleans and Yuma...yikes. I was pretty bummed at first but I'm starting to come around and be happy about it. It's the BETTER of the choices that were open so I'm thankful for that.

At LEAST we'll be on a beach and it's a very Marine-y place to be being the oldest Marine Corps base ever. Everything happens for a reason so I know it will be just fine. If you're interested (which I'm sure you're not) you can visit the base website HERE. You can also see info about Jacksonville, NC (which is where we will be) HERE.

I'm excited...really I am. I can't wait. It's just good to KNOW where we will be so I can start making arrangements and plan for housing and junk like that. It's gonna be fun. Come visit us and hang out on the beach!!

My brother and his wife live are in Fayetteville (Army). I just looked it up and it's a little over 2 hours away. If on the crazy chance I get to visit them, I'll have to meet up with you too.

Okay, so I am officially stalking your blog. You are good to have such a wonderful outlook. It will be great. My cousin is stationed there as well. I'll have to give you her info. She (her husband is the Marine:)) is an absolute doll! She can totally help you if you have any questions. When are you guys headed out that way? You are in VA now, right?

That is awesome Jess!!! even though I'm bummed you did not get Japan. JAPAN ROCKS!!!! (ahem, amanda) Unless you have lived there, you do not know, Tokyo is insanely awesome. Bill and I think it should be a requirement for every American to live for 6 months in another country, just to open up their closed little minds. I think staying in country for now is a good way to ease you into Marine life. But if an overseas spot opens up, take the plung, you will be SO glad you did, no matter how scary it might seem at first, or what negative responses friends might give you. Unless they have lived there and can say that it sucked, don't listen to anyone about ANY assignment that comes up. Even if it is Arizona. :)

That is so funny about Kora and Josh, I would die with happiness if they ever hooked up. I think it's funny that she noticed him when he was doing his "ladies man" face. haha Well, anyway, she is going to be just as hot as you, so I wonder if Josh will even have a chance. :)

NC is really pretty and has beautiful weather! It's not Hawaii, but hey - at least the cost of living isn't ridiculous!

Everyone and their dog is moving to NC. My mom moved there. My boss and his wife just bought a house there. Now with you and your 14 kids going... I think I know half the state.
