A date with L&D...already?

First off, let me inform you that Jeremiah did NOT have his surgery yesterday. I know a lot of you have emailed me asking about that and I appreciate your concern but it's MY fault for not telling you all that the surgery was post-poned until NEXT Monday because the doctor had to leave town for an emergency.

BUT, that didn't keep me from going to the hospital yesterday! Sunday night I started feeling pretty sick to my stomach all of a sudden so I laid down and beginning at about 9pm Sunday night to about 11am on Monday morning, I threw up EVERY 30 minutes at LEAST. For the first few hours it was everything I had eaten, but after that it was just horrible painful dry heaving of all the saliva I'd swallowed. I was SO thirsty after each ralph so I started drinking ENTIRE water bottles after each time to at least HAVE something to throw up.

My good friend Dena saved my life by calling me and telling me to call my doctor. I was hoping she would just call something in for me at the pharmacy, but instead, she told me to go straight to Labor and Delivery. BLAH BLAH...I didn't want to go, but I couldn't keep a singly DROP of liquid in me and I had thrown up over 20 times in the last 12 hours so I knew I needed to go. I felt so pathetic and miserable but I drove myself to the hospital at about 12:30 and walked right in to L&D and got hooked up to a IV right away. My blood levels all came back really low so they ended up giving me some potassium in one of my THREE IV bags. I stayed in the hospital until about 8:30pm. Once I could keep some crackers down they let me go.

I hated being there and the bed was SO uncomfortable. The pillow was like AIR and I couldn't rest well, but I DID manage to get a few naps in so I guess it was worth it. I feel okay today, just weak, but I'm keeping everything in me so that's good.

Not sure why I'm having to go through so much CRAP with this pregnancy. This better be the easiest baby on earth because he's definitely making me WORK for him right now. The funny thing is that nothing I'm going through is really even pregnancy related. I'm wondering if my immune system is just SOO weak right now that I'm getting anything and everything I can to make me sick. Who knows...

So that was yesterday.

Don't forget that STRESS weakens your immune system as well. That's what killed me at the end of my pregnancy with Eddie, I was sick all the time, miserable, etc. Take care of yourself there, I wish I had put myself first a little more at the end before he came. I'm glad you are ok and it didn't end in a premie situation. Hang in there, it will get better!

Um, take it easy? It makes it hard to stay healthy when your body is so worn out. I'm sorry. That sucks. I hope you get some smooth sailing before the baby comes.

Oh Jessica--That sounds AWFUL!!!!! I am glad you are home and feeling better!

The diaper bag----I have the Mothership from way back when I had P. I LOVE it!!!! The lexi tote I just won is great but not big enough for all the stuff you need at first---maybe when the kid is 1 year:) Molly has the Sling tote and loves it too---but it is just a little bigger than the Lexi tote. SO if you want the biggest one I would go with the mothership--I don't think you'll regret it! Molly also has a skiphop bag and loves that one too--but it is not as cute as the fleurville ones:) Good luck in choosing and let us know when you decide!

Jessica----I'll try to answer your questions.....

The mothership strap is not adjustable. It hits me right about my hip area. I am 5'4. The sling tote is smaller---Molly has never used the adjustable strap--I think she removed it in the very beginning. She uses the 2 handles over her shoulder. I have never even seen her adjustable strap. The bottle holder is just an extra thing in the bag---not hooked in. If you need one you can buy one seperate from them. I never use their changing pads or the dirty clothes bag that came with the mothership.....They take up too much room to me and I prefer to use a really slim changing pad of my own. I never needed a bottle holder b/c P only had a bottle a few times. The fab thing it comes with instead of the bottle holder is like a wristlet isn't it? I think that is cool---you can keep a cell phone, camera, extra change---whatever you want in it......

The bags all have different color lining. If it does not say under the picture in small print when you click to look at it then you can e-mail them and they will get right back with you:) I did that--then they added the liner colors to their web-site for the Lexi tote...I don't know about the others:)
