Snow in Texas and Jumping Party

Okay, so I know all you Utahians (or whatever they call you freaks) are gonna laugh hysterically at this post because of the amount of snow you get each year. BUT WHO CARES! We woke up this morning to SNOW IN TEXAS!! Woo Hoo!! This is JUST about as much as we Texans ever get. The funny thing is that the news reporters go CrAzY with it acting like it's some blizzard and we should all stay inside or DIE. Not to mention that every other school is either cancelled or late start because heaven forbid we drive in this mess...are you kidding me??!!
Anyway, the kids LOVE it and Jake was upset because his school was NOT cancelled. Oh well, it didn't stop him from playing in it a little before he left for school.
(Yes, Jake has socks on his hands because we don't believe in buying gloves in Texas or having any other winter weather gear for that matter.)

He made a snowball (which used up about 1/2 the snow in the front yard) and he put it in the freezer to keep.

Kora and Miah were SO EXCITED about the snow they saw out the window, but they enjoyed staying cozy in bed with each other watching cartoons and drinking chocky and soy soy.
(For those of you who don't know, chocky is chocolate milk, which is what Miah has each morning and soy soy is chocolate soy milk which is what Kora indulges in.)

When we finally did get up and ready for the day, Kora ran outside to play.

PawPaw was JUST about as excited as the kids (or maybe more) and he and Kora began to make a snow man. Since Jake had used the majority of the snow for his snowball, there wasn't much left so the man of snow was covered in grass and leaves (and dog poop). Kora had to leave since we had play date plans with friends, but PawPaw stayed outside and worked on his snow man which he had propped out in the front yard for us when we came home. There wasn't much left of him, but it was a nice thought.

We met our fun friends in Fort Worth to go Jump at Jumping Party which is one of the most awesome places ever to Jump. I'm not kidding when I say the Jumping Places in Fort Worth are about 20 times better and bigger than the ones over here near us and in Dallas. I don't know why, but they just suck here. We were glad to spread our wings and have a little space while we jumped. We had lunch with our friends there and talked and just enjoyed ourselves. It was so nice seeing them, they are some of our favorite friends!

Here's Kora, Roman and Elijah making crazy faces because that's what they do.

Oh my goodness, how cute! I can totally appreciate this post. We got a little more snow than this in Tokyo, and Jade went NUTS!!! (at that time, we were used to MS and CA weather), then it was Spain and Vegas. I know I boasted about snow on my blog this year, but it's our FIRST year with it, so I appreciate how exciting it is when you don't get any snow ever, and a little comes your way. I can't tell you how many times Jade and Josh went to school with socks on their hands because I only bought them each one pair of gloves, and those always got lost. :) (we will be better prepared next year)

Oh, Eddie has like 4 pairs of little baby mittens, he hardly wore them. If you go someplace cold, I will send them to you.

That IS tons of snow!!! My kids nearly died of excitement when they saw the snow in Ogden in Dec. My children also have no snow gear and we've improvised with socks the 2 times it's snowed in Vegas in the last 9 years.

I like the dog poop snow man. No matter how much it snowed this winter, Raymond was always enthusiastic about it.

I think it is cool not to have sisters- you feel a little left out but at the same time, you really don't have to compete with anyone. I think Kora will be the better for it. I know that sounds weird, but really, do you want any more girl hormones around than you have too?

BAD FRIEND HERE!!! Hope you still remember me!!!
Snow in Texas is AWESOME!! We actually got over 2 inches here. I was deathly ill and couldn't play in it but Kyle and Faith had a blast. I have actually added some to my blog in the last few days, you should check it out. You never know, you might get lucky and see some really recent stuff. Oh and think about next week - any free time - I would like to see you and your bug tummy!!
