Well family...you did it! You really put forth the desire and you did it! For those who don't know what I'm talking about, I'll explain. Every year we draw names as a family to see who will buy who a gift. The people included in our drawing are: Mom, Dad, Me, Austin, Amy, David, Lindsay, Enos, Marian and Charles. The rules are, you spend $50 for the name you've drawn. Well this year, we decided as a family to donate our money that we WOULD have spent on each other...to buy gifts for the kids at Children's Hospital in Dallas. Everyone sent in their money and we even got a bonus $100 from Daisy Productions to make a grand total of $600 to spend on gifts for the kids. After my first visit there in September I have been back several times to visit the kids dressed as all the different princesses. For my last visit tomorrow, I'll be dressed as Sleeping Beauty and I'll be handing out Christmas gifts for each child. I decided to do a variety of dolls to make it fun for the kids, plus the dolls were so cute I couldn't resist. Here's what I bought...
CINDERELLA

33 PRINCESS DOLLS
40 MINI SUPER HEROES
AND 11 PUPPIES (just in case!)

84 gifts!!!
WOW! Way to go family! The kids are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!
I have invited the Sister Missionaries to join me on the trip and hold all the baggage as well as be in charge of taking the pictures. They are ecstatic and can't wait to join in on the excitement. Thank you all SO MUCH for having big hearts this year and opening them to these children. I know it will make a huge impression on them and they will remember this day for years to come. I love you all!

HOW AWESOME!!!!!!! YOu are amazing! I too can't wait to hear the reactions and see the pictures:)
That is the COOLEST thing Jess!!! WOW, that's all I can say! I will have to inspire my family to do the same one day, (when we have enough ADULTS to participate!) :) you are brilliant and beautiful inside as well!
What a great act of charity you all are participating in! And how great that you dress up as these princesses, Jess. I'm getting teary eyed. :)
You "gave birth" to the concept, collected the funds, shopped for the pressies, will don your costume, yet again, and entertain them, and will deliver and distribute the lovely stuffed animals. Our contribution?-- mere money. (Way to go Daisy Productions!) Hmmm, you have a "Wonder Woman" costume? If not, why not? Straight up, we think you represent noblesse and we LOVE you.

I am REALLLLY glad we did this... and it ends up that this is a tremendous Christmas for giving... i feel already that i have been blessed beyond measure but knowing that these kids are helped because of what we did, it really makes a person take a step back and focus on what's most important....family and service.
Yeah, they are so cute...can't wait for the follow up post!!
