I Hate Toys!

Have you ever noticed how much fun kids have playing with the dumbest cheapest things?
Like this .99 cent squiggly thingy.
Penny loves it.

It happens to me every year after Christmas,
I get the itch to throw EVERYTHING in our house away.
Donate?
What's that?
You mean I have to load it in my car and actually TAKE it somewhere?
Yeaaaa...No.
I don't do that. It's annoying and a waste of my time.
If someone wants my crap, they can come dig it outta my trash.
This year wasn't any different. Once the kids went back to school,
(and their eyeballs weren't peering on what I was trashing)
I got rid of everything that bugs me.
All the fancy wooden kitchen toys that we spent a fortune on several Christmases back?
TRASH.
Bikes with missing wheels?
I don't fix things...
TRASH.
Scooters that I constantly find in the yard but NEVER played on?
TRASH.
All that crap at the bottom of the toy box that never gets pulled out
except when friends come over and then it's all of a sudden all over the freakin HOUSE!
TRASH.
Izey and I worked together and we filled up two huge green trash cans.
Not to mention all the stuff we had propped up next to them all ghetto style.

It was cold outside so Izey and I bundled up as we worked.
Well, I worked.
He pushed his baby in the grocery cart
wearing his Christmas robe and high water PJ pants.

Honestly, if it were up to me, I'd only allow my kids to have
A BIKE
and like 3 or 5 favorite toys.
Wait a minute...
it IS up to me.
After all our hard work, we stripped
ourselves of clutter and clothing
and came inside for a much needed snack.

The END. Literally.

Feeling cold looking at this picture?

Go HERE to win a baby cozy that will keep your tiny one WARM!

Okay, why can't I do that? I am sooooooooooo tired of toys everywhere all the time (and I'm pretty clean, so they aren't really everywhere, but enough to annoy me). I want to get rid of them, but I can't. I feel like I'm throwing away money. If they kids don't clean up, I put them in trash bags--I just started this... and they don't miss them! and I have lots stored in my room! and it's driving me crazy. why can't i just throw it all away like you? ahhhh! you inspire me. baby steps, baby steps. how do i stop thinking about the money i'm throwing away by throwing away toys or that "when baby 3 grows up, she could play with that" help me. please.

I really need to take a lesson from you here. I have a VERY hard time throwing stuff out.

Jessica Lowe!!! You should have DONATED that stuff!!!! That's a bunch of good toys. I can only bring myself to throw away broken stuff, stuff with missing parts, and happy meal toys.

Yep, I'm the same. My kids think I'm so mean because they don't have toys like everyone else. Then I ask if they would like to clean all those up {because I'm not going to!} and they say that their little meagar collection is just enough! Yeah for and you!

I know how you feel. I grew up in a home where my mother threw NOTHING away. Of course it seems that kids these days have way more toys than we did back then. I have to throw toys away too when no one is looking. Happy Meal toys are usually the first to go.

Cheers for your hard work!!

First. LOVE the highwater pants picture. It made me laugh.

Second. Your feeling cold/baby cozy tie in is three kinds of brilliant.

Third. I have a GIANT bag of stuff that's being picked up for donation on Monday or it would be picked up for trash on Tuesday.

Fourth (and last, don't worry). I'm glad we aren't your neighbors. Because seriously? My daughter would bring all of your trash into my house.

Will you rub off on me? I have issues with getting rid of TOYS, BOOKS, and dead ANCESTORS stuff

I love to purge toys and the best thing about it is that they never even notice.

Yeah, it's technically your choice, but then there's grandparents...
