The Birthing of a CENTURY...

probably not.. but at least of jessica's life. ha. This is lindsay, jessica's sister. I'm supposed to tell you all what happened in the delivery. I'm sure jessica will have more delicious details when she returns.. i just got the facts, people.....ahem.... presenting Reginald Wilmore Lowe.... no i 'm just joking...

presenting......

August Lyn Lowe

7 lbs 4 oz
19 inches long
and a sexy full head of hair.

jessica went through with her super woman plan of doing it drugless. she tried to get drugs at the last second because she wiener-ed out and realized how much pain she was REALLY in store for but it was too late...it was au naturale... and who should leave the room to get something to eat? Candace. HAH She left the room when jessica was dilated to a 4 and being the speed demon that she is, jessica was fully dilated within the next 15 minutes!!! crazy. Poor candace missed the whole thing. So much for some lovely va jay jay pictures. haha
(thanks candace :) )
Jessica was able to get him out in 2 1/2 pushes.... when it was all done.. she texted me and said she was a rock star. doing natural childbirth? you'd HAVE to be.

Lindsay...I just spoke to Jessica, and she is rebuttaling the statement of..."she tried to get drugs at the last second because she wiener-ed out and realized how much pain she was REALLY in". She stated that she took the pain and laughed at it in its face!!!! She refused the drugs...not to mention, she was way past the point of being able to get them.

Congrats!!!!! I can't wait to love and kiss all over him while your watching, and not blinking:) See you tomorrow:)

LOL Poor Candace got somebody to watch her kids and cleared her schedule simply to miss it at the last moment. Congrats Jessica! He's a doll, love all that hair, maybe this is that dark haired baby you've always wanted.

Congrats, he's adorable! Way to go Jessica-I'm impressed with the au naturelle - not me, bring on the pain meds!

I'm still wallowing in my depression. Who goes from 4 cm to a fully delivered baby in 20 minutes???? Only a complete freak of nature. Thanks for ruining it for me, Jess. ;)

On the other note, it was a day I'll never forget and I'll love you forever for sharing it with me.

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you and your family-but more so YOU! He's a cute little boy and I too love the name. Just wondering where it came from? Besides the month of course. Can't wait to see and hear more about how it went. Take it easy!

Jess said...

Yea!! You did it. I knew you would end up with a fabulous birthing story. I just wish you'd call me and let me hear it from a better source than Lindsey.

August is beautiful. I'm so happy for you and your family. Nine months of heck is worth it when you get this at the end. Good work!!

Rebuttaling? Seriously? Anyway, I am so happy for you Jess! You should probably retract that ode to my doula post since she totally let you down. Some friend, leaves you to go eat. (Kidding, Candace)

Ok, so I know I told you fourteen times today, but I am SO proud of you! You really do rock! If I have another baby, I'm gonna do it natural... since all the cool kids are doing it.

I love Aug's hair! I have never had a baby with that much hair. Muy jealous! I think he looks like Izzy in the face. He's beautiful! Job well done, Jess! Job well done!

AWESOME:) Don't you feel like a Queen? You the woman:) He is beautiful! At least you went VERY fast for the most painful part so it wasn't drawn out:)

Well done our Jess!!! Now get some rest and allow your Mum and Dad to wait on you hand and bloody foot.

As for you AuGUST, you are indeed venerable (you'll need to be with a mother like yours), imposing, sublime and majestic. Welcome to our family you gorgeous creature. I cannot take my eyes from your angelic face.

Love You All,
Aunt M and Charles

The story was not relayed correctly. Jess said, "I change my mind. I don't want to do this."
I am so proud of you baby. A few wimpers and grunts and the whole thing was over.

Oh what a precious little darling, Congratulations!

By the way, I am trying to generate some support for our daughter. I entered her into a Smile Contest, so if you could please vote for her (just once), the contest runs until October 31st. Your vote would be so much appreciated.

To cast your vote, please go to this link. Please look for Jillian Rylie Cottrill.

Thank you very much for your help!

Yea! Congrats! He is totally adorable! I'm proud of you for doing it without pain meds...and if you did it with pitocin, then I have no excuse for not doing it. Now, the real questions, was it worth it? Do you feel like you gained something from not taking the drugs? And would you recommend it?

Your responses won't change my mind, since I know that going without pain meds raises my chances of a successful vbac (since epidurals can slow labor and I cannot have any pit to augment), but I was just wondering what you thought.

Thanks for being an inspiration!

Baby
You are super momish and I think you need to know that. I loved being there and doing all the work and playing with the babies. Remember what I said...give yourself permission to not be that "super" right now so you can get the rest you need and come back stronger than you were in the first place. Love you dearly
Mutha

PS I loved meeting your friends...all of you...thanks for all you all do for my sweet daughter. Amber I am so sorry that we didn't meet...again. UGH! But you know what? It will happen some day... I just now it.
