Innie

Well, Miah had his surgery today and all went well! Austin was able to have off work so he went with us to the hospital this morning. YaY!
When we got there he got lots of fun prizes and toys and attention from the great staff at New Hanover. They really are a great hospital.
But then...
After the surgery we was a totally different little guy...
Ouch.
Still holding onto that pinwill though.

And on the way home...
knocked out.

In three days we get to see how it looks!
Thank you SO much to Summer and Amber who helped with the other kids. I couldn't have done it without you. You guys rock.
Also, thank you SO MUCH to those of you who called or texted to check on Miah today. It really meant a lot to him to hear from his loved ones. It made him (and me) smile to know that you care :) We love you!

Just for the record, I WOULD have called or texted IF I knew your number. LOL ;)

Glad to see he came through the surgery well. Hope he's got some good pain meds so he'll be comfortable.

Oh yeah, I would have texted if I hadn't been running all over creation looking at houses for Bonnie and totally flaked that his surgery was today.

I'm not a bad friend, Bonnie is for making me forget.

Hey Lady Lowe -
Sorry I've been a bad blogger/commentor lately - but I'm blogging again and have some fun stuff. Glad to hear your hubby is home - that's gotta rock, glad to hear my kids aren't the only ones who have an interesting sense of style and glad to see Miah is doing well after his surgery. I do read your blog religiously, just been sooo busy (seriously, I'm not making excuses.)

HUGS!!!

okay, my heart sank when i saw the 2nd picture. and him STILL holding his pinwheel made me even sadder like he SO wanted to be happy. poor groggy baby boy. can't wait to see the doc's work!

i'm embarrassed that we didn't catch this earlier. i remember talking about how it was probably just the work of a county hospital. glad they found the REAL cause and fixed it!

Thank you so much for your comment! I've thought about commenting on your blog for a while, but I am still gun-shy about the whole blog-stalking thing. I love looking at your blog; it seems we have a lot in common and you are able to express a lot of the same things that I am experiencing. It is refreshing! Anyway. I finally commented on this post because my son has an umbilical hernia too! It looks just like Miah's! Our doc told us not to "worry" about it until it is 2" long. THAT'S RIGHT! TWO INCHES! Yeah right. We live in Arizona where kids run around nakie in the summer. Having a 2" limb coming from his abdomen might be a bit of a traumatic experience. And he might not like it either! :) Well, have to jet. Have a good one!
