Today Kora came home from school looking guilty. I almost knew immediately after seeing her face get off the bus something had happened and it was probably her fault. I asked her, "Kora were you on yellow today?" She said, "No". I said, "Were you on red?" She said, "No...I don't wanna tell you, you'll be mad at me." I asked her if she had gotten in trouble and again her answer was no. Hmm...so what don't you wanna tell me? She said, "We were cutting paper and I had to go to the doctor(nurse) at school." I asked her why, "Did you get sick? Did you have a fever, a headache, a tummy ache?" She shook her head. "Did you cut your finger?" Nope. She said, "we were sitting and I cut my nose with the scissors." What the...? Your nose? She said, "I put the scissors like this (showing me with handles by her mouth and the blades up by her nostrils on either side ready to snip it off) and cut my nose."
Okay, only MY daughter would cut her nose at school. She said she was embarrassed so she covered her face but her friend told the teacher that her nose was bleeding. They sent her to the nurse to take care of the mess but she was fine. Dork. Who does that? And an even better question is, what kind of a mother am I that my daughter would be scared to tell me she cut her nose? Geez.
