Quick Update on the Bully Situation

The Ass. Principal called Jake in to get his story and he told her everything that had happened over the past couple days, even about him hitting the one boy. I had told him this morning that they would talk to him and I wanted him to be completely honest about everything. The two bullies were called in separately and got in trouble for not listening to Jake when he told them to stop several times. Jake didn't get in trouble at all because he told the truth, which is what he said Mrs. Baird told him. The bad boys have to sit at the very front of the bus by the driver from now on. The bus driver told Jake to write down the name of the person he wants to sit by and give it to her privately. Jake told me the two boys wouldn't even look at him today, which I feel much better about.

The funny thing is, the Assistant Principal who is handling the whole thing, Mrs. Baird, is Jake's girlfriend's mom!! Because tomorrow is Valentine's Day, Jake had asked me to get Mackenzie (his g/f) a rose and a Princess present. So cute! See, it's nice to have hook-ups! Thanks for the advice everyone, it really has helped me to come up with a plan for next time.

OH and one more thing! When Kora found out about this bully, she was P.O.'d!! She was steaming mad and told me that she was gonna get on that bus and say this, "If you wanna piece of me, you can get off this bus and I'll kick your butt!" As you can see, she's a little more outgoing than Jake and not afraid of beating up a kid two years older than her! She practiced how she was gonna say it all day and would get in front of the mirror with her hand on her hip and one finger pointing toward the "bully". She's such a good sister and I have a feeling this won't be the first time that she sticks up for one of her brothers!

Great job Jess, I think you handled this as good as anyone! Honestly, this is a really good lesson, and quite harmless compared to how it can get when they get older, when knives start showing up at school, etc. THAT is the kind of stuff that freaks me out. I almost hope my kids get in just "regular" fights so they can learn to be tough and stand up for themselves. It's the "older kid" fights that worry me. (I happen to know someone, won't give a name, but he put a kid in a coma in High school in a "little" fight due to some bullys)
