Yesterday my mom took Miah to Chuck E. Cheese for a Miah and MawMaw day and Kora and Jake were in school so I snuck away to play with my cousin Mershie!! We have cousin day once a month, but usually I have kids with me so this was an extra special one. I met her for lunch at Mijo's which is my FAVORITE Mexican place in Arlington. Look it up if you're nearby, SO good and clean and fresh...mmm. After lunch we went to do a little shopping. I was looking for some maternity jeans that I LIKE which was not a fun task, but it had to be done. My mom had given me some cashola to donate to my maternity clothes fund so I was excited to pick something perfect!
First we went to Motherhood in the Parks Mall. Let me just say, and I'm sure Michelle will agree with me, that the Parks Mall has turned into a teeny bopper HAVEN. It's horrible, it's all for little skaters, boppers, and goths...yuck. The Motherhood store was SO run down and looked more like a consignment store. There was only ONE of everything. When we walked in the girl working there asked if we needed help. I told her I needed some jeans but I was looking for really LONG jeans. I asked, "Do you have long length jeans?" This was her reply, "Uhmm, well, uhm, we have regular ones. They come in sizes small, medium and large." I looked at her like she was an idiot and proceeded to search through the mess of clothes mySELF. I found two that I THOUGHT would be okay, but after trying them on I saw they definitely were NOT. As I walk out of the dressing room the girl working there says, "How far along are you?" I told her 17 weeks and she said this, "You're only 17 weeks and you already need maternity jeans?" That was the last straw, I looked at Michelle and said, "Let's go!" I know I shouldn't get so mad about that, but please, when you work at a maternity store that's the FIRST thing they should train you NOT to say. Ugh.
Next we went to Mimi Maternity in the Northeast Mall in Hurst. MUCH better selection. I focused only on jeans because I didn't want anything else to get in the way (tops and dresses) but I did try on a few skirts. After trying on about 20 pairs of jeans, I found 1 that was SUPER cute and then 2 more that were alright. One was REALLY tight but REALLY long and the other was much looser and more comfortable, but too short. I decided against the two maybe's and stuck with the one pair which was perfect in all aspects. The thing is, they were expensive. BUT, if I don't have GOOD jeans that I feel GOOD in, then it ruins everything. I feel ugly, I don't wanna leave the house, I don't wanna dress up for anything, I get depressed, etc. Jeans make ALL the difference for me. I know that sounds stupid, but it's true. Here's a picture of what they kinda look like. My belly cover thing is dark blue and I like to fold it down to be under my belly right now. After my long fun day without kids, we went to Austin's basketball game at the church. Austin's team won because they ROCK and Austin did great. He was of course the hottest guy on the court but he's usually the hottest guy anywhere we go so that wasn't anything new. *wink* Here's a cute picture of the two brothers watching dad play ball. If you look closely you can see Austin on the left side, #10 with red shorts on.
