The Verdict is in

No, I'm not talking about the pumpkin contest and who the winner is although that WOULD have been my next post, something more important has arrived...

We found out last night, by accident kind of! The results weren't supposed to be posted until today, but last night my dad asked Austin what the website was to see the results. When Austin went there and clicked on the "Pass List" there they were....all the names of the people who passed the bar in the entire state of Texas. Austin freaked out and said, "Oh my gosh, it's already up." My dad just got right up and left the office saying, "I'm outta here..." Austin came upstairs and told me they were up and so we all went downstairs into the office as a family to slowly, but surely scroll down the long list of names to find his. First we looked for all his close friends and even had to pass the "L" section to see some below him. Then we went back to the "L's" and scrolled down far enough to the "Ln" section. We called my dad back in and as I'm sitting on the floor shaking and saying, "don't do it, don't look" Austin slowly scrolled down and then stopped. There it was, "Lowe, Michael Austin,,,1379" I screamed, "YOU PASSED BABY!!!!" I don't think he had even found his name yet and then he started breathing really heavily. My stomach was SO knotted that I crouched down on the floor just crying and trying to breath, I felt like I was going to throw up. This was probably one of the most important days of our family's life and it was such a relief that it's all over now, everything we have worked for is done and finished. We can finally start heading in a new direction achieving new goals and dreams. I don't think I've ever felt so much joy at one time, really. All of our prayers and fasting and all of our family members who prayed and fasted definitely payed off. For anyone who knows me and Austin, you KNOW this is huge because our luck is usually the worst of the worst. We have worked SOO hard for this point in our lives and it's almost unreal that it's finally here. I'm just so humbled and so thankful by all of this. I'm so proud of Austin and all his efforts and all that he does for this family, he is the BEST husband EVER and I feel so lucky to be able to spend my life with him.
After we called everyone and Austin's dad came over to celebrate with us, we went upstairs to our room and pulled out our list of "to-do's". In 2003, Austin and I sat down and made a list of life long goals that we have to achieve to get to where we want to be in life. Each time we achieve one of the goals, we ceremoniously put a "done" check mark next to it and date it. So that's what we did, we marked "pass the bar" DONE.
It's kind of ironic how all of this has worked out. 13 years ago TO THE DATE, I was 16 and Austin was 18. We were sitting in the church foyer and I was finishing up my Spanish homework. I had had a LONG time crush on Austin since I was probably 13 or 14 and since turning 16, we had been dating quite a bit the last month. Well, the flirting was of course back and forth and then he took my Spanish workbook and drew a stick figure picture of himself asking me to be his girlfriend. From that day forward we've been best friends ever since. Fast forward 13 years (my lucky number) to today we find out we passed the bar. It couldn't be more perfect!! I still have that Spanish workbook by the way!
Here's the picture of Austin's name on the Texas State Bar website! Jake took this picture and a picture of his dad to school today to use it as his show and tell, he was VERY proud.

this is in response to Austin's comment on my blog about cops. I TOTALLY AGREE. Most cops are complete retards and you see them strutin' around town with their nasty hair cut and i coke in hand... it makes me wanna smack 'em. they are such D@#%!! I think cops should be required to have some sort of higher education... not just dumb COP training or whatever the hell they do. okay..sorry.. i'm done.. i just really hate cops too.
