So what if we LIVE at the beach. We can still go there for vacation too, right? There's no law against that. So 20 weeks ago we booked our little lodge for 4 nights with our sweet friends being our neighbors and this last weekend, we got to enjoy the fruit of our labors. (well, we didn't really labor for it. Well kinda, but not really.)
Before we left we had to make sure the house was clean because they've been showing our house to renters. Thankfully, my fake dad took charge. He's always so good at taking charge and getting the house cleaned. This was my view from my cozy bed as I sat and watched Wipeout Wednesday night. What a great lover.

Kora and Jake found these cherries in our batch we brought and they are STILL laughing about how they looked like a butt stuck together. I think they remind me of Kora's tramp stamp she had one time.
We also found a chip before we left for the trip that was screaming for us to stay home.
On Saturday we had friends join us which made the day even MORE fun. Dan and Priscilla came with their two kids and Carma and Eric (SS's cousins) also came down from DC to play. It was awesome. All the kids got along so well. Dan is such a big kid and the kids LOVED having his pull them on boogie board rides in the tide pools.
When Penny DID come to the beach, he'd roam around all by himself making passerby'ers look confused as if he had been left alone there. He loved the open area for him to just explore and get sandy.
Miah spent one whole day digging this quarry. He was so focused about it and this picture doesn't do justice. This thing was so deep that the beach patrol had to come by the next day and fill it back up for safety reasons. When he was in that hole digging, you couldn't even see him, it was hilarious. He was covered in silver sand just laboring away.
Our little lodge was just perfect for our family. It had KINDA two bedrooms. One was for Penny, and the upstairs loft for the kids. The Lover and I slept in the living area on the mattress from Penny's room...that is...AFTER we broke the futon. Get your head outta the gutter people, it was already cracking...
On Sunday is was pretty overcasty which was perfect for all of our sunburned little bodies (well, BIG bodies if you count me). Penny ate watermelon with his float on. He's a safety guy. He wasn't taking any chances with that tide...who KNOWS when it might come and sneak up on ya.
The kids got majorly sandy one last time.
And the Lover made his beauty queen a mermaid. Doesn't everyone do that on EVERY beach vacation? It's like required I think to complete the trip.
The whole time was lovely. Simply lovely. I'll have a picture of our little group once my SS puts it up on her blog and I can steal it. They're great people to vacation with. Even if they DO sneak over to your lodge at night while you're in your underwear asking you to come to their place for a party. Thanks K family!

The lodge was decorated really outdoorsy reminding me of the house from Old Yeller. There was fabulous professional photography on the walls as you can see here. My favorite part of this photography was the date and time stamp on it. So lovely, don't' you think?

Even though our actual vacation is over, every day is a beach day to us so I'm sure you'll be seeing more of our fun in the coming summer months!
