Today was a special Sunday because after church one of my Beehives was baptized. For those of you who don't know the LDS terminology, the Beehive class is the age group of 12 and 13, that's who I teach each Sunday. She is a convert and although her mom was a member of the church, Sydnie wasn't baptized at the usual age of 8 because her mom wasn't active during that time.
Kora went with me to the baptism and she loved it. She told me that she can't wait to get baptized and I had that little burning feeling in my chest as I imagined all of my children on their baptism day. What a special moment it was for Sydnie and her family. She is such a strong spirit and has such a strong belief in the gospel. I can't imagine not being born into the church and making the decision on my own at the age of 12 whether or not to be baptized. I admire all of those who are converts and although I am grateful for the blessings I have been given by being a member of the church all my life, I think converts to the church have a special little "thing" about them that I love.
I'm so grateful for this church and I truly believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on the earth today. I know Jesus died for US and I KNOW that Joseph Smith was a true prophet who restored the gospel to the earth again. I am so grateful for the true and living prophet of the church today, President Gordon B. Hinckley and I'm grateful that Heavenly Father has given us temples so that we can be sealed to our spouses and our families for time and all eternity.
Lately I've had such a strong desire in me to be a missionary (like Kora) and share the gospel with everyone. I just feel like I have all of this wonderful knowledge of the truth and I want to spread it around to everyone I know so they too can have the joy that I have. I can't imagine my life without the church in it and the blessings I receive from being a part of it.
For any of you out there who read my blog (publicly or silently) who would like to know more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, please let me know and I would be MORE than happy to arrange to have a Book of Mormon sent to you and the missionaries in your area come and talk to you. You can also visit the church website at www.lds.org and go to the "about the church" link. There you will find a ton of information regarding our beliefs and much more. If you aren't interested, don't take offense and remember that you are always welcome to come and read my blog and share our stories! I love all of you so much.
