the tuesday before we left,
i let each kid pick a friend to stay the night.
we planned to party it up eating pizza
and ice cream.
that was the night
i found out my car wouldn't start.
lemme just say,
if you ever want to take 8 excited kids
to get ice cream,
DON'T load them in the car
until you know it's gonna start.
not pretty.
kora picked her cutie pal jordyn.
whose brother apparently looks identical
to justin bieber.
aaaaand kora is in love.
this may or may not
be the reason she loved jordyn so much.
ahem.
the kids had a blast
and we even got everyone up and ready
for school the next day on time!
jake "manipulated" everyone's hair for them.
THE morning we had to leave.
we swung by michele's for one last ooh rah.
it was so hard to watch these best friends part ways.
seriously, breaks my heart.
cole wrote a small note to his "buddy".
that i will keep in my special box of specials
for all eternity.
all of us are experiencing the heartache.
but it's a small world
and i'm pretty sure our paths will cross many more times.
and if not, we'll make them.
we love and miss you guys!

Aww, what a sweet letter. Being a military family has to be hard with all of the moving around and being stationed different places. My dad was raised that way and was determined not to do that to his kids, so he did not reinlist after I was born.
That last good-bye picture made me sad. It's hard leaving friends.
that was the sweetest thing ever!
Aww! This made me all teary eyed! It's so sweeet.
Just Better Together
That little note is just about the most precious thing I've ever seen. It's amazing how kids can show such true love for one another in ways adults often are afraid to.
Sadness:(
Poor Cole. He'll never have another military leader as fine as Jake. Miss you guys!
That note is awesome.
I know that feeling of leaving your friends when you are a military family. My friend made me a ceramic cat when I moved (age 8) and it still sits on my bookshelf to this day.
Hopefully they all find a way to stay in touch.
Awww, so sweet!
That's so sweet! What a great idea to keep that for him. Adorable!
I love that note. I hate saying goodbye. The. Worst.
